The Americans are always suspicious of the world. And let’s not even talk about the ‘trigger happy’ American police forces. In a yet another shameless and unnecessary display of so-called ‘security’, an absolutely innocent 14-year-old teenager was arrested for, as bizarre as it can get, bringing a self-made clock to school.

A 14 year old making a HOMEMADE CLOCK is labeled a terrorist just because he is Muslim? This is Islamophobia at its finest. #IStandWithAhmed

Ahmed Mohamed, a Texan, was arrested when he showed his teacher his creation—a clock he made from a pencil-case. The teacher, of course an American, instead of praising the boy for his efforts got him arrested. Yes, the police literally had the boy in handcuffs. Ask why? Well, according to her, she was freaked out and thought this was a bomb and, of course, the poor kid was Muslim.

And then came to the teenager’s support, the most powerful man in the world, President Barack Obama.
Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great.
— President Obama (@POTUS) September 16, 2015
And then Mark Zuckerberg, who invited Ahmed to the Facebook headquarters to showcase his clock.

Then, of course, a rather red-faced police had to drop the charges, and Ahmed was a free and a proud young man. He then addressed a public conference in the most positive and badass way possible. The internet just can’t stop supporting him ever since.

Now that Ahmed is the most loved person on the internet, he already has invites from the President’s office, Facebook headquarters, NASA, and many other celebrities. More power to you, boy!
