7 Foods You Should Never Reheat However Delicious They May Be

 

Ordering food and then saving some for later is normal for us, right? In fact most of us feel that reheated pizza, tandoori chicken, paneer and chicken gravies taste better than before. Do you agree? But before you get all enthu, let us tell you that making the microwave your favorite kitchen companion can be scary. Studies have revealed that certain compounds in these junk foods become harmful once they are reheated. Also processed foods lose their nutritional properties making them unhealthy and harmful.

1. Chicken

Chicken is rich in protein, but the same reheated chicken can give you serious digestive troubles. The best way to consume leftover chicken is by tossing it in a cold salad or sandwich.

2. Spinach

Spinach is packed with iron and nitrates. When you reheat Popeye’s favourite food, the nitrates convert into nitrites and other cancer causing elements, thus making it inedible.

3. Eggs

Studies pointed out that reheating eggs can upset your tummy as high heat makes it toxic. So stop reusing boiled eggs. Not a good idea!

4. Mushrooms

Ideally you should eat mushroom the same day it is cooked, the reason again is the protein composition in this veggie. So never reheat them, not even once.

5. Rice

Now this is the most common item on our reheat list. Uncooked rice is laced with spores of bacteria which survive even after you cook it. Reheating won’t kill it and ultimately cause food poisoning.

6. Potatoes

Potatoes become toxic as and when they are reheated, the best way to eat them is by boiling them.
