Here’s Why Priyanka Chopra’s Take On The Juvenile Justice Bill Is The Most Sensible One!

Even after major protests, the juvenile involved in the Nirbaya Gang rape case has been released. One good thing that followed the release was the Juvenile Justice bill which finally passed in the parliament. Juvenile Justice Bill, that provides for the trial of those between 16 and 18 years of age as adults for heinous offence wasn’t really a good news or a breather for Nirbhaya’s parents because the juvenile was already released by the time the bill was passed.

People from all over the country had their take on the bill and Bollywood Actor Priyanka Chopra too didn’t refrain herself from giving her piece of mind.

“That is an extremely heinous crime. As a woman, I’m not just appalled and shocked but I am amazed that children can be capable of something that heinous.

Secondly, I believe that investing time on adolescents is very important during their rehabilitation, and educating boys that they should not a woman (sic).

It is a tricky situation when it comes to this case, but I do believe that when dealing with crimes like this, the focus should be on education and rehabilitation of the children so that we don’t create future criminals. And how it is done needs to be taken individually.”
