Yes, yes, yes! The universe has answered our prayers and delivered justice at last! After years and years of painful waiting, high expectations and heartbreaks, Leonardo DiCaprio has finally won the Oscar for Best Actor for The Revenant. The movie was already leading with 12 nominations at the Oscars this year, including Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Sound (both editing and mixing), Best VFX and Best Make-up and Hair.
But of course, nothing compares to the satisfaction of Leo FINALLY winning the golden trophy for the first time in his career of almost two decades!
But what really stood out apart from Leo winning the Oscars, is his wonderful acceptance speech where he spoke about climate change.
“Climate change is real. It is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat affecting our entire species.” He urged, “We need to support leaders around the world… who speak for all of humanity and not those focused on greed. I thank you all for this amazing award tonight. Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take this award for granted.”
